tHE EFFIN’ PROCESS

OVERVIEW

Every tattoo begins with designing, sizing and stenciling.

Before we ever touch your skin we will start with sterile products for a full setup including a disposable razor to shave the area, alcohol to sterilize your skin, surgical grade gloves to protect both you as the client and myself as the artist, as well as stencil ointment that stays sterile with no exposure to any unsterilized handling or contact.

Once your skin is sterilized, stenciled and dry, we begin prepping you for the tattoo by laying you in an exact position ideal for your specific placement! Using only sterile prepackaged needles and grips with machines that are sterilized between every use, we will begin the tattoo application process

We use only distilled water and high quality vegan products during the tattoo and we even have a fancy wrap at the end that keeps your tattoo covered and clean for the first few days so you can just relax!

Disposal of all biohazard is handled by a local sanitation company - we never re-use disposable products!

On rare occasions, adrenaline runs high and sometimes it dips - fast; clients may experience vertigo-like symptoms that could result in fainting- we have specific care plans and procedures in place, as well as certified training to keep you safe and calm in these situations and see you through to the end of the procedure.

AFTERCARE

We use a special wrap called Recovery Derm - this wrap is a latex free bandage that adheres to the skin surrounding the tattoo. It allows all the good juices you would normally see form a scab, to just sit wet on your tattoo as your body reabsorbs them and heals itself naturally underneath!

This wrap should stay on for 3-5 days depending on how much fluid comes up underneath it AKA ”The forbidden soy sauce packet”

This wrap is waterproof- you can swim, shower, and do anything you would normally do while you have this wrap on! You don't need to do anything but wait while you have this wrap on!

Once that fluid dries and looks like the black crackle nail polish that dominated 2010, you’ll know its time to take that bad boy off. You’ll peel it off like a bandaid, it will hurt like a bandaid but it isn’t going to hurt your tattoo!

If by the 3rd day, you’re still juicy, you can take the wrap off but be diligent with any skin that is still open at the surface. I recommend taking the wrap off in the shower as it will help you work it off without hurting yourself more than necessary, as well as wash the area at the same time. However, if you choose to take it off willy nilly, please be close by a sink and have some antibacterial soap on hand! I recommend anything unscented and antibacterial!

After washing, you can pat dry with a non abrasive cloth or towel and then moisturize! I recommend Hustle Butter but any unscented non-petroleum products will work!

A few things to be aware of:
It is OKAY to take the wrap off before the third day especially if you experience any of the following: leaking fluid from the wrap, water trapped inside of the wrap after swimming/showering, wrap peeling to the point that tattoo is exposed, redness around wrap edges, burning sensation underneath wrap 24hrs after tattoo, any adverse reaction that could be the result of an allergy to adhesive or process products.

If wrap comes off early or the top layer of skin is still open after wrap removal:
Avoid water for 2 weeks or until skin is healed and closed
Wash day and night (and as needed) with an
unscented antibacterial soap and reapply ointment as often as your body needs! Do not over apply ointment- a very thin layer is all that is necessary, applying small amounts more often is ideal! If scabs occur, avoid picking, scratching, over moisturizing, or under moisturizing.
